There was a young lady who just left our care here at Active Life Health and Wellness. She first came in to be treated for her terrible scoliosis, but soon found we could help her with many health concerns including sleeping disorders, fatigue, neck pain, back pain, immune deficiency, among many other things. Correcting a scoliosis can be difficult, but at Active Life Health and Wellness, we’ve had excellent results with correcting scoliosis.
One of her problems was that her neck curved the wrong way. A normal neck curve should be 43-45 degrees. Without that curve in your neck, your neck begins to deteriorate. She suffer from neck pain and inimaginable headaches/migraines. Her neck was way beyond just being straight, it had literally curved backward. During care, she worked hard, as did my office, Active Life Health and Wellness. Before she left, a second set of x-rays showed that her curve had returned. She had been suffering from her headaches less, and was able to sleep better through the nights.
She was in our care for about nine months. Recently she left us to move to the beautiful island of St. Thomas. Before her move, she drove to Washington to visit her parents one last time.
The other day she called our office. She had been in a horrific rollover car accident in California on her way to see her parents. She told us that she walked away from the accident. She went to the nearest emergency room to be checked out. New x-rays were taken. Nothing was broken.
The reason she called, though, was to tell us what the E.R. doctor told her. He told her that if she had not had a healthy curve in her neck, the accident would have broken her neck and likely killed her.
She called to thank us for saving her life.
It was the most touching thing I have heard in a very long time. These stories are the reason I became a doctor. I am deeply moved to be involved in a story like this.
